Hear from our employees
New Kraengkrai: Passing the torch to Cargill young talents!
Kraengkrai Daosaengpetch or “New” is one of our incredible young talents working at our further processing plant in Thailand. New has had a connection with Cargill since his childhood, being inspired by his mom who has worked at Cargill for more than 32 years to pursue a career with us.
With his bonding to Cargill, he studied in food science and technology, did an internship with us in different departments from operations to R&D, participated in our future leader camp and finally started his first and current job with us as a production supervisor who leads frontline workers for plant hygiene. Other than that, he has a passion for bringing fresh ideas, introducing new technologies and helping the people who make our poultry business successful.
Lek Niracha: Going beyond the law to support pregnant workers
At Cargill’s protein business in Thailand, we realize that our pregnant daily-paid frontline workers would have concerns and difficulties to work at production lines. So, during their first to 27th week of pregnancy, they are allowed to work outside production lines and go seeing a doctor without needing to take leave. Moreover, our Thai Global HR team has also applied an extra benefit to permit those workers to take additional paid leave from their 28th week of pregnancy until giving birth. This special maternity leave goes beyond the Thai legal requirements and has already benefited over 170 Cargill’s pregnant frontline employees including Thai, Lao and Cambodian in 2021.
Looking behind the scenes, Niracha Pimpaporn or “Lek”, our Thai employee and industrial relations senior specialist, is one of the supporters contributing to these benefits. She always dedicates herself to building an inclusive culture supporting female and non-Thai workers.
Zin Panumas: Living the value of 'Putting People First' through actions
Panumas Charoensuk, or Zin, was one of Cargill employees’ children in Thailand who obtained a scholarship from Cargill to study from an elementary school to a university. Learning from her mom who worked at Cargill since she was young, she frequently witnessed and was impressed with how Cargill brings its “Putting People First” value to life, making her want to work for Cargill, just like her mom.
Zin joined Cargill Meats Thailand as a full-time employee seven years ago and gradually learned that Cargill has strong values at its cores. She currently serves as a microbiology lab supervisor at a laboratory in Saraburi province. In this role, she regularly coordinates with several business teams such as customer service, infrastructure, IT, transportation and so on. Working with different people makes her realize that their decisions are driven every day by our value of putting people first.
