Cargill received Good Labour Practices recognition from the Ministry of Labour of Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand (March 29, 2021) – Cargill Thailand has been recognized for its contribution to enhance good labor practices. Thailand’s Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Phairoj Chotikasathian, presented the Good Labour Practices (GLP) emblem to Suriya Pimsaard, agriculture director, Cargill Meats Thailand, during the recognition event at Terminal 21 Shopping Center in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
Cargill Thailand was honored for its efforts in applying good labor practices in its whole operation, including Cargill Meats (Thailand) Company Limited, Khok Kruat feed mill of Cargill Siam Company Limited and its contract broiler farms.
“We have implemented the Good Labour Practices program at 45 locations of our company facilities and farms, and have extended this program to cover 99 of our contract broiler farms. We will continuously apply good labour practices to our whole supply chain in order to improve the employees’ quality of life and achieve sustainable growth of both Cargill and the supply chain," said Suriya Pimsaard, agriculture director, Cargill Meats Thailand.
Cargill works closely with the whole industry to promote Good Labour Practices. It recently participated in a training program on responsible business arranged by Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association, Employer Confederation of Thailand and International Labour Organization, aiming to ensure decent workplace in the poultry industry and raise Thailand’s chicken processing supply chains to the international level.
